COLUMBIA (WACH) -- As Midlands students dread the start of a new school year, parents are gearing up for the much anticipated tax free weekend.
Shoes, clothes and school supplies will be tax free all weekend.
Officials with the Department of Consumer Affairs says this weekend is welcome news for the economy.
"For businesses and consumers the tax free weekend is beneficial," says Carri Grube Lybarker. "It's a shot in the arm for the economy."
The sale kicks off Friday at 12:01 a.m.
