LEXINGTON (WACH) - Ted Stambolitis says he's ready for the rush of fans in town for the Dixie Youth League World Series. Stambolitis owns the Flight Deck restaurant, just a couple miles from the where the games are being played.
"The world series has increased our traffic flow, we've seen a 10 to 15 percent increase in sales."
Stambolitis, who's also on Lexington's town council is embracing the extra business. "The Dixie Youth League series is a highlight respected tournament," says Stambolitis. "We know a lot of folks are involved in it, and are passionate about the series."
The Flight Deck is also co-sponsoring the series. "This whole week has been wonderful, we've really met some really, really nice people from around the Southeast," says Stambolitis.
The Dixie League series was also here in 1995, and it brought 40,000 people to the community along with a $4 million impact.
