COLUMBIA (WACH) -- When the new school year begins at Bamberg One, teachers will be armed with a new way to help students excel in the classroom with a developmentally based handwriting curriculum.
“We're multi-sensory learners so by providing students with these strategies you're enabling them to learn in the easiest most effective way,” says Tania Fernandino, national presenter for "Handwriting without Tears".
Fernandino says the program targets student success and also helps teachers. "90% of our teachers feel unprepared to teach children handwriting. These workshops prepare teachers with the mechanics of handwriting.”
“It gives you a better model of how to put it together,” says first grade teacher Allison Harper. “It teaches the correct order and how to pull it all together in sentence writing and paragraphs.”
The "Handwriting without Tears" seminar targets pre-k to 5th grade students.
