COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Agencies from across the state came together for a cabinet meeting Tuesday morning.
Each reported to Governor Mark Sanford any progress on moving the Palmetto State forward, from gang prevention to highway fatality statistics.
But there's one order of business all eyes seem to be focused on. That's state revenue.
"I would suspect that the revenue increase has been based on the global picture and the national picture," Sanford explained. "People are feeling tighter on the income statement, and they're saying we're not going to go to the coast of Florida. We're going to drive to South Carolina."
Governor Sanford adds that even though tourists are picking South Carolina as their vacation spot this summer, we still have an economic storm to overcome.
