COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Democratic gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen has released 10 years of income tax records and challenged his Republican opponent to do the same.

The income tax returns Sheheen released Tuesday show his income rose from $73,641 in 2000 before he won a state House seat to $372,509 in 2009 as he served in the state Senate and launched his bid for governor. Nearly all the income is from his Camden law practice.

Republican state Rep. Nikki Haley has released three years of income tax returns already. Sheheen says she should disclose all 10 years of tax records too. That would include reports of income since she won her House seat in 2004.
