COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The Ashley Cooper campaign released a statement Friday claiming a large fundraising lead over Republican opponent Ken Ard in the South Carolina race to become the state's next Lieutenant Governor.
The Cooper campaign says Ard has just under $4,000 on hand and $300,000 debt. In contrast, Cooper claims no debt and $182,000 in cash.
According to the Democratic candidate, 76 percent of Ard's fundraising came from either his own funds or special interest groups.
