COLUMBIA (WACH) -- People in the Hollywood Hills area of Richland County should boil their water before drinking or cooking with it, according to the City of Columbia.

Samples tested by the city show that the water serving Green Tree Drive, Green Tree Circle, Old Oak Drive and the 400 block of Woodcrest Drive is contaminated.

Affected water customers should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.  Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia says they are working to correct the problem. WACH Fox and MidlandsConnect.com will keep you updated when the water is again safe to drink.
