COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The city of Columbia is turning garnet and black in celebration of the Gamecocks' National Championship title in baseball.

The fountain in Five Points has been dyed garnet to honor the victory.

Governor Mark Sanford officially designated Thursday as Gamecocks Baseball National Champions Day.

Other festivities include the Gamecock flag flying over the State House and a parade Friday afternoon.

The parade will take place on Main Street at noon.
