COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Police have identified the driver who they say is responsible for causing a five car crash after robbing a Rosewood Drive bank.

A report released by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department shows 19-year-old Douglas Green was fleeing officials at high speeds when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and collided with another car creating the wreck.

Police arrested Green Tuesday immediately after the crash that sent five to the hospital, including Green.

Officials say Green robbed the First Citizens Bank, assaulted an elderly woman and stole her car fleeing eastbound.

Blocks away, he collided with four vehicles stopped at the intersection of Rosewood and South Kilbourne.

There's no word on the condition of the other motorists involved.
