AIKEN (AP) -- The former finance director of South Carolina's social services agency, who is awaiting the start of prison sentence in a $5 million fraud case, is charged with disorderly conduct.

Court records filed Wednesday show Paul Moore was arrested early Sunday at a restaurant, where deputies said his eyes were bloodshot and he smelled of alcohol.

Moore was out on bond waiting to report to federal prison to begin a 10-year sentence for stealing more than $5 million from the Department of Social Services, money he admitted spending on strippers, alcohol and gambling.

A judge had allowed Moore to remain free but ordered him not to drink alcohol and to stay at home. On Wednesday, that same judge ordered that Moore be arrested and taken into federal custody.

Moore's attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
