WEST COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Rep. Joe Wilson's campaign says someone vandalized their headquarters in West Columbia.
Spokesman Brian DeRoy said "you lie" was spray-painted on a wall and campaign sign outside the State Street building.
DeRoy says the vandalism likely took place between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
"The congressman had the largest amount of votes for anyone ever running in the Republican congressional primary, and his opponents obviously are frustrated and they choose to lash our in this way," DeRoy says.
Wilson quick became a national figure last fall when he yelled "you lie" at President Barack Obama while Obama was giving an address to Congress.
Wilson is running for re-election against Democrat Rob Miller for the second congressional district seat.
