WEST COLUMBIA -- Military personnel and their families now have a place to rest and relax at Columbia's Metropolitan Airport.

The USO Lounge had its grand opening ceremony Thursday.

The Lounge serves more than 140,000 troops that travel through the airport each year.

The lounge offers drinks, snacks and is just a good place to kick back.

"The outreach we are able to do is absolutely incredible," says Joanie Thresher, Director of the USO in South Carolina.  "We find the young recruits that introduce them to the USO from the get go."

If you have items to donate, you can drop them off at the airport.

USO Volunteers will even unload the supplies from your car.
