Suspects arrested in murder case

COLUMBIA -- Columbia Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a North Carolina man.

The two men in custody are John Boyce and Marvin Jennings.

Police have charged Boyce with murder and attempted armed robbery, and Jennings with attempted armed robbery and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

According to police, the May 6 incident involved 53-year-old Morris Jones of North Carolina.  He was beaten and shot in the chest.  He died as a result several days later.
