COLUMBIA -- Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the U.S.

To raise awareness, ladies wearing red gathered for the annual Go Red for Women luncheon Friday.

WACH Fox's very own Katie Williams had the pleasure to emcee the event.

They discussed how stress affects your heart and easy steps you can take to prevent the disease.

"Even if you're not a woman, your mother, your sister, your cousin can be affected by this," says Dr. Donna Richter.
