SPARTANBURG (AP) -- Authorities have shut down a stretch of Interstate 85 in North Carolina as they try to capture a man suspected of homicide and arson in South Carolina.
State Crime Control and Public Safety spokeswoman Julia Jarema said Tuesday that North Carolina troopers closed I-85 in Davidson County while authorities search for the suspect. Traffic is being detoured along U.S. 64.
Multiple media outlets report that authorities responding to reports of an early morning shooting at home in Duncan found the house on fire.
Deputies say one person in the home was dead and another was injured.
Authorities say they chased a suspect up I-85 from Spartanburg County. Local television stations report the suspect is in a standoff with authorities.
