Kirkman Finlay and Steve Benjamin are competing to be the first new mayor in the city of Columbia in 20 years.
COLUMBIA -- On Tuesday, voters head to the polls once again.
This time, they'll cast their ballots in a run-off election to choose Columbia's next mayor.
Kirkman Finlay and Steve Benjamin will face off once again after each of the seven original candidates in the city's general election failed to grab 50 percent of the vote.
Finlay and Benjamin received the most, which took them into a run-off. Former candidate Steve Morrison came in a close third and the two remaining candidates have spent the past two weeks competing for his supporters.
Campaigns took a negative turn on Friday as both candidates faced attacks. Read the full story here.
Outgoing Mayor Bob Coble has served the city for the past two decades.
Voters will also elect a new city council representative in District IV.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
