CAYCE -- Curtis Loftis officially kicked off his campaign for State Treasurer Thursday in Cayce.
The Republican candidate wants to make the treasurer's office completely transparent.
If elected, he says he'll keep the public up to date by posting financial records online.
"In this computer age, there is no reason that every citizen can't understand and see exactly how their money is being spent," Loftis says. "I think a transparent treasurer's office will change South Carolina in many, many ways."
Loftis is running against current State Treasurer Converse Chellis, who's been in office since 2007.
