COLUMBIA -- City and county officials met Thursday to figure out how to keep the buses rolling.
They looked at a transportation study that lays out what improvements need to be made.
Now, they're trying to prioritize what needs to come first and how to pay for it.
Officials say the cost could be steep, but would be worth the investment for the community.
"We are a capital city. How can we not have an effective, modern, efficient transit system?" asks Robert Liming of Save Our Buses. "But to do that, it will require funding and, yes, that will be a sacrifice but to do without would be a tragedy for the entire community."
