A Marion County deputy was released from the hospital Friday night after he was hurt in a high speed chase.

A Latta police officer started the chase. It went through Marion County where a sheriff's deputy there got involved and tried to force the driver off the road.

Officers say that's when a crash occurred in front of the Marion IGA grocery store on Main Street.

In all, four cars were involved in that crash.

Two bystanders were also hurt and had to be taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The suspect's name isn't being released, but he's been arrested on a number of charges.

The deputy will have to have surgery on his foot.
