HONEA PATH, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina coroner says a 13-year-old boy has died after being shot in the neck during a sleep-over away from home.
Abbeville County Coroner Ronnie Ashley told multiple media outlets that James Dustin Ashley died early Saturday morning after being shot the night before. The boy is not related to the coroner.
The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office would not release information about the shooting over the weekend.
The case is being investigated by the sheriff and the State Law Enforcement Division.
