(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. Weather forecasters say a winter storm will bring the best chance of snow to the southern part of South Carolina.
The National Weather Service on Friday issued a winter storm warning for the state along and south of a line from Abbeville to Myrtle Beach.
The snow is expected to start around noon Friday, moving north and east across the state.
Forecasters say 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall in places that rarely see it, like Hilton Head Island, Charleston and Myrtle Beach, as well as Columbia, Florence, Sumter and Orangeburg.
Winter weather advisories or winter storm watches are in effect for the rest of the state, where 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall by early Saturday
