LADSON, S.C. (AP) -- A coin dealer says someone took about $200,000 worth of rare coins and other merchandise from his car while he ate at a North Charleston restaurant.

Hank Passafero told The Post and Courier of Charleston that he thinks the thieves targeted him as he left the Lowcountry Coin Club's winter show Friday night.
Passafero said he has been a coin dealer for 30 years and has heard of thieves going to extreme lengths such as ordering replacement keys for dealers' cars.
Passafero said many of his coins were gold and included a $2.5 Liberty gold piece from 1898 and a one cent piece from 1793.
Randy Clark is president of the Lowcountry Coin Club. Clark said such thefts are common and the public is usually kept away from where dealers park during the show.
