COLUMBIA-- Columbia officials are considering changing the city's smoking ban to exempt some businesses.

The amendment would allow smoking in cigar bars, if the business generate 35% or more of its annual gross income from selling tobacco and smoking products.

The amendment would only apply to cigars and pipes.

WACH FOX News reporter Katie Williams spent the afternoon speaking with residents about the proposal.

Most say it's a good idea. Austin Anderson says, "If you walk into a cigar bar, you expect to smell cigar smoke."

City Council member will tackle the issue at Wednesday morning's council meeting. WACH FOX News will be there and bring you their decision.
