(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. The Boy Scouts of America is turning 100 years old this year, and the South Carolina State Museum is hosting a special exhibit to help the organization celebrate.
"The Centennial History of the Boy Scouts of America" opens Friday at the museum in Columbia.
The exhibit features photographs and artifacts illustrating the organization's contributions to South Carolina communities and its growth over the past century.
Museum guests will see about 20 photographs including Camp Barstow, originally established in 1930 on the site of what is now Fort Jackson. There's also an early Boy Scouts uniform from around 1915 and a scout pack from the 1930s.
Chief curator Fritz Hamer says the exhibit also includes a history of scouting in South Carolina.
