The University of South Carolina Gamecocks' inaugural season at the new Carolina Stadium was quite good from an attendence stanpoint. The Gamecocks ranked No. 4 in the nation for average and overall attendence according to spokesman Andrew Kitick.
The Gamecocks attracted 231,360 fans over 34 home contests, averaging 6,804 fans per game. Both figures are new USC records according to Kitick. This is the 10th consecutive year that USC has ranked among the Top 15 schools in the nation for baseball attendance.
Clemson also made the Top 10 drawing a total of 170,150 fans over 36 home games. That was good for a 4,727 fans per game average and No. 7 rank.
