Fire near Lake Wateree kills two

LAKE WATEREE - Officials say two people are dead following an overnight house fire near Lake Wateree.

According to Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers the fire started after midnight and destroyed the Baron Dekalb Road home.

Fellers told WACH FOX News the first body was recovered after 3 a.m. Thursday morning. The second body was recovered around 8 a.m.

The names of the victims have not been released. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
