COLUMBIA -- Richland County residents near Fort Jackson are under a boil-water advisory after a water main break.

The City of Columbia Water Works advises customers on Fort Jackson Blvd, Wildcat Rd, Downing St, Montague Rd, and Oxford Rd, to boil their water for at least a minute prior to drinking or cooking.

City officials recommend any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure to boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

City crews are currently working to fix the broken water main.
