Columbia, SC - Columbia College Police have charged 19-year-old Amber Willbur with disturbing school after investigators claim she lit a firecracker outside a school building Monday. Columbia College Police Chief Howard Cook says Willbur violated school policy by possessing an "explosive device."
Willbur spent eight hours behind bars at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center before being released Monday evening. She has since been barred from campus pending the outcome of this case, according to Willbur.
Cook says no classes were evacuated, but Willbur is nevertheless charged with disturbing school. Police searched Willbur's dorm room and found more fireworks and two hunting knives.
