SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (AP) -- South Carolina continues to struggle with high unemployment, and state lawmakers from one northern county are participating in a jobs forum.

The Employment Security Commission says six lawmakers from Spartanburg County are co-sponsoring a jobs forum on Saturday at the Spartanburg Community College campus in Duncan.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and give out information about available jobs in the area.

South Carolina's unemployment rate was 12.1 percent in June, the nation's fourth highest.

Spartanburg County's jobless rate was one point higher than the state average, at 13.1 percent
