Authorities have found the body of a Lake Wateree fisherman missing since Monday.
The Fairfield County Coroner confirms that searchers found the body of 40 year-old Ricky Granger at about 7:30 AM Wednesday.
Granger was reported missing Monday after he didn’t return from a Lake Wateree fishing trip. Upon investigation, officials found his boat, empty and still running, around 4:oo PM Monday afternoon.
Members of the Fairfield County Rescue Squad and the SC Department of Natural Resources began a search that continued through Tuesday and ended this morning when the body was found roughly 50 yards away from his boat.
Family members say the fisherman was an experienced swimmer and knew the water like the back of his hand.
An autopsy is expected today.
