GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities are searching for a 555-pound South Carolina teen and his mother who police are seeking on a charge she violated a custody order.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office said Thursday they are looking for 49-year-old Jerri Gray of Travelers Rest and her son 14-year-old Alexander Draper. The teen is considered to be at a critical stage of health risk.

Authorities began searching for the woman after she failed to make a scheduled court appearance May 19. A judge has ordered that the teen be taken into protective custody because of medical neglect and Gray's failure to appear in court.
