Columbia Police are looking for a bank robber who robbed the Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union at 1320 Washington Street Wednesday afternoon.

According to Officers, the man walked in, handed a note demanding cash to a teller, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Columbia Police Captain Thomas Dodson says the suspect may have committed another crime shortly after the bank robbery. He says "We believe this person to be dangerous obviously. We know that we have someone that robbed a bank and we know that we have someone that stole a car in close proximity to the bank. Whether that is the same person... we're still trying to decide."

The carjacking happened a few blocks away on Blanding Street.  If you have information about either of these crimes, please call CRIMESTOPPERS.
