(AP) -- ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- A 36-year-old man has been shot and killed in a front yard in Anderson in the middle of the day.

   Authorities told the Anderson Independent-Mail that Terrell Merriweather died shortly after he was shot at least once around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

   Police say they have no suspects, and witnesses have been reluctant to talk.

   Merriweather's mother, 51-year-old Linda Fant says he son made some bad choices and spent some time in jail but didn't deserve to die like this.

   Fant says she doesn't know why someone would want to kill her son.
