(AP) -- A forest fire that spread along the mountain in Jones Gap State Park near the North Carolina state line has been contained.
Forestry Commission spokesman Scott Hawkins said around 33 firefighters patrolled the edges of the blaze Wednesday. Hawkins says the fire is contained, but authorities will continue to monitor the area.
No injuries have been reported from the fire, which started Sunday morning in gusty winds. Officials think it was probably caused by a campfire that had not been sufficiently extinguished.
Authorities say around 351 acres burned after firefighters lit controlled fires to contain the damage.
