Glenforest School athletics director William Knopf isn't trying to start a new trend.  In fact, he's trying to put an end to one.

Tuesday night in West Columbia, Knopf coached the high school's girl's basketball game in his bare feet.  He plans to coach like that again next week to raise awareness for a group called Samaritan's Feet.  Several college-level coaches across the country are also getting involved this week.

The organization helps collect shoes for the needy here and overseas.  Coach Knopf is challenging his students and the community to get involved.

Knopf is hoping to collect 100 pairs of shoes.  Right now the school has collected 39 pairs.  They are taking donations at the Glenforest School until next Tuesday when Knopf will coach in his bare feet one more time.
