(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A former South Carolina police officer and a teenage girl involved in a 13-hour standoff with police have appeared in separate courtrooms.

A U.S. magistrate judge in Macon, Ga., Tuesday ordered 25-year-old David Dietz sent back to South Carolina to face federal charges. A spokeswoman for the marshal service said she wasn't sure when he would be sent back to the state, but that it likely wouldn't be Tuesday.

In a Lexington, S.C., courtroom Tuesday, bond was set at $450,000 for 17-year-old Jamie Lynn Burgess on kidnapping, carjacking and assault charges.

Police say Burgess and Dietz surrendered Monday morning after a standoff at a Georgia motel. The two had been holed up in a second floor room with 7-month-old Allim David Dietz and Dietz's estranged wife, 29-year-old Eva Arce-Perez.
