Jeffrey Graham is also the newly elected Mayor of Camden and he’s only 26 years old.
An up and coming Camden politician is making a name for himself.
Jeffrey Graham is vice president of a realty company, serves on several Kershaw Chamber of Commerce Committees and chairs the Kershaw County Democratic Party.
Graham is also the newly elected Mayor of Camden and he’s only 26 years old, making him South Carolina’s youngest mayor serving in office right now.
Graham has been in office a little more than a month and he is starting the New Year with a long to do list. His number one priority these days is selecting a new city manager.
"Making that decision is going to be one of the toughest decisions that Council makes but it will definitely head us in a direction for the city because of that leadership position being such a crucial role,” Graham said. Next on his list is revitalizing the downtown area where empty storefronts line the street showing the tough economic times.
"Obviously small downtowns and a lot of towns are falling apart and its time for us to reinvest downtown and reinvest in our businesses that are there,” Graham said.
When asked about his future in politics Graham says he is focusing on Camden right now. Even though most 26 year olds are finding themselves, Graham says he’s found his calling and he’s ready to live up to the challenge of governing through a recession.
