A Sumter woman has been arrested for brutally stabbing a man on Christmas Day.
It happened Thursday at a home on Franklin Drive.
Deputies say 30-year-old Selena Seymour got into an argument with a man earlier in the day.
Seymour returned to the home and stabbed the man with two knives.
The 63-year-old victim suffered wounds to the upper body and to his head.
He was taken to Tuomey hospital and is expected to be OK.
Seymour told investigators she tried to kill the man because he had hit her with a belt.
She was taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and is charged with assault and battery with the intent to kill.
Bond was set at $25,030.
