Recently, WACH FOX News visited Blackville, a small town about 60 miles south of Columbia.

Open fields, country stores and historical landmarks contribute to Blackville's charm and one of those landmarks is quite unique.

You'll find God's Acre just off Highway 3. It's a special spring where some say God's healing power flows in the water.

"This is healing water, it comes from the ground," said the Reverend Levi Daniels.

Nestled a mile off Highway 3 is what the Rev. Daniels calls a heavenly gift... God's Acre Healing Springs.

Daniels is one of many who visits, weekly, just for a splash on his face or a quick sip.

"Yes, I believe with all my heart that this is healing water. There was a woman with arthritis and she drank the water and walked away from here," said the Rev. Daniels.

Carl Holmes travels from Summerville for the healing waters.

"I have diabetes and since I've been coming here, my health has been better," said Holmes.

Billy Mew helps oversee the spring. He knows its history and says faith in its healing power dates back to the 1700s.

"The legend goes back to the Indians," said Mew.

Mew says a preacher saw several injured Indians bathing in the waters. That preacher bartered for the land and kept it for his own.

In 1944, a man named Lute Boston came to own the land and according to historians, he's the last earthly owner. Boston deeded the land to "Almighty God," thus the name God's Acre.

"Every day there are people that come from Savannah, Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, North Carolina and locally just to get the water," said Mew.

Myrtle Quattlebaum is a lifetime resident and comes to the spring just to get away from cell phones, televisions and people.

"When you come out here, you just get an entirely different feeling. You relax, you hear the wind blowing in the trees, you hear the gentle flow of the water," said Quattlebaum.

"I always feel that when I drink it, I feel alive. I have faith that it works and everything," said Holmes.

God's Acre is open daily from sun up to sun down. It's free to visit and the water is always flowing.
