GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A Greenville man who says his business suffered in the decline of the textile industry has been flying the U.S. flag upside down to protest the bailout of the financial sector.

Jeff Russo of Greenville Industrial Rubber & Gasket Co. Inc., said the textile industry's problems have cost his company about $1.5 million annually.

Russo told The Greenville News he got no objections about the flag for about a month, but then a veteran complained and a television station did a story. He says reaction has been mixed.

Russo said Tuesday he loves the United States and is concerned for the country's future.

He said the government never bailed out the textile industry, telling workers to train for different jobs or to find new markets.

Russo restored the flag to its normal position Monday.
