A family is in pain and a 9-year-old boy is still wearing his hospital band in bond court Monday.
Police believe 22-year-old Quentin Patrick is responsible for their pain and appeared in bond court Monday, as well as his girlfriend 19-year-old Ericka Pee.
Patrick is accused of firing more than 30 rounds at a family Friday night off Wise Street in Sumter.
Twelve-year-old T.J. Darrisaw, his 9-year-old brother and their father were trick or treating on Wise Street when they walked up to Patrick's home.
Patrick started firing at the boys and father, shooting and killing T.J. His brother and father were also hit and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
T.J.'s parents were too emotionally drained to speak to reporters Monday, but are relieved Patrick will remain behind bars.
Chief Patty Patterson agrees, "We think it's an appropriate bond for the crime that was committed by Mr. Patrick and the outrageous crime that cost a boy his life."
Pee faces obstruction of justice. The judge set her bond at $300,000.
