Richland County -- Two Spring Valley High School students were taken into custody Wednesday morning.  Investigators say the incidents were not related.

Richland County Deputies say a 17 year old was arrested this morning after a teacher smelled marijuana on him.  The school's resource officer was notified and discovered a small amount of marijuana.

Later that morning, a 15 year old student was arrested for being in posession of marijuana.

Both students are charged with simple posession.  School officials say Richland School District Two has a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy and both students will be suspended and recommended for expulsion.
