COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina voters will likely return many congressmen to office.

This from political experts who base predictions in part on how congressional districts are drawn. Winthrop University political scientist Scott Huffmon says the geography pretty much guarantees Republican Reps. Gresham Barrett and Bob Inglis will hold their seats in the western 3rd and 4th districts.

Democrat John Spratt has held his 5th District seat in the northern part of the state since 1982.

Democrat James Clyburn is the state's only black congressman since Reconstruction and he holds the seat in the state's only black-majority district.

Incumbents Henry Brown and Joe Wilson also are favored for re-election, but face fairly spirited competition.
