CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Two boys who were 14-years-old at the time have been convicted of murder in the death of a North Charleston man earlier this year.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported the boys names were not released because of their ages. The boys were convicted of murder, illegally carrying a handgun, illegal possession of a weapon and possession of a gun during a violent crime. They were sentenced to the Juvenile Justice Department to be held until they are 21.
Police say 20-year-old Trammel McFadden was shot to death during a fight Feb. 10.
Witnesses said the boys had someone call McFadden's brother, asking that he meet them to fight.
Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson said the case demonstrates that teens are getting access to guns too easily.
