COLUMBIA (WACH) -- National Gospel Recording Artist Yolanda Adams bringing her syndicated morning radio talk show to Columbia Friday.

Adams teamed up with WFMV 95.3Toys for Tots and the Lowe's on Garners Ferry Road to help collect toys for children less fortunate this holiday season.

Friday’s live radio show featured a number of national gospel recording artists performing outside Lowe's.

Those who came to take part brought in 1,100 unwrapped toys.

Adams says it is markets like Columbia that really help to get the holiday message across.

“When we are in larger places, folks come in every now and then, but you guys were here at 1 and  2 o'clock in the morning. So this place was full from the beginning, and it just makes us feel so good. Number one it makes us feel that our work is not in vain and that what we want to do for society is validated by your attendance,” said Adams.

During the live broadcast, Lowe's presented Lower Richland High School with a $10,000 check to help with their educational endeavors.
