One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Columbia Thursday afernoon, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH) - One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Columbia Thursday afernoon, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies reported to Baywater Drive near Leesburg Road to investigate a disturbance call around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, deputies observed one man who had been shot mulitple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.
One man, who the department believes to be the shooter, has been detained.
Preliminary details indicate there may have been an ongoing dispute between the two men, but there is no indication as to what the argument involved.
Witnesses told WACH Fox reporters that the victim was walking down the sidewalk when the suspect told the victim not to walk on his property. Witnesses say he was on the sidewalk when the two men, who had been in an altercation earlier in the week, exchanged words. Then shots were fired, and the victim fell into the street.
Residents in the area were concerned that something bad might happen and say they had previously contacted authorities, but nothing was done.
