COLUMBIA (WACH) - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott is seeking the communities assistance in helping investigators locate three people who have been reported as missing.

Scott says Brady S. Brown, 49, was with his uncle, Eddie Lee Cobb, Jr., 68, and a family friend, Ella Williams, 52, to attend a funeral in Columbia on January 4. The trio left Columbia in a 2006 beige or gold in color Dodge Stratus with paper tags on January 7.

According to Scott, their intent was to travel on Interstate 20 Westbound to Shreveport, La. from Columbia, but they never arrived, according to Scott. Relatives have not heard from or seen them since. Phone calls go straight to voicemail.

Authorities say the last known communication is believed to have been made from a cell phone belonging to one of the three near Birmingham, Ala. on January 7.

The three individuals were reported missing by one of Brown's relatives, Scott said.

Investigators say Williams may be in need of medications.

Law agencies in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi have been contacted by Columbia police investigators.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting with the investigation.
