COLUMBIA (WACH) –Fun.  Energetic.  Artistic.  Three words that Elvia Swainson uses to describe her 15-year-old daughter Gabbiee, who disappeared on the morning of August 18, 2012.

By the age of five, Gabbiee was drawing comics, according to Elvia.  “Five was a magic year,” she says, as she talks about the two dance teams, modeling, gymnastics, and church activities she was involved in.

Elvia shared that playing with dolls was another passion of Gabbiee’s.  “She didn’t want me to cook, didn’t want me to do anything, just play with her,” she says with a smile as she remembers her precocious young daughter.

“I am so proud of everything she has been doing,” Elvia says, sharing stories of Gabbiee’s drive that extended beyond performances.  Gabbiee also excelled at school, according to her mom.  From languages and good grades to the magnet program that she was involved in, she always wanted more for her daughter, and Gabbiee made her proud.

It has been nearly three months since 15-year-old Gabbiee Swainson disappeared.  Since August 18, Elvia Swainson has been working with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department to locate her daughter.

Many details about the case have been released to the public with the hope that it will lead to more clues and the safe return of Gabbiee.

In part one of a three part series, WACH-Fox anchor Tyler Ryan sat down with Elvia to talk not about Gabbiee’s disappearance, but the kind of young lady her daughter is.

Elvia makes it very clear that although she has been gone, she expects her to “continue to be Gabbiee” when she gets home.

If you have any information on Gabbiee’s location, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME SC.
