CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson University has decided to cancel classes for Election Day.

Clemson President Jim Barker says the school used to have Fall Break around Election Day, but has recently moved it to mid-October. He decided Friday to go ahead and cancel classes for Tuesday so students, professors and other employees can have plenty of time to vote.

Barker says faculty and other workers need to check with their supervisors to see if they can take leave time during Election Day to vote.
