COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The newest member of the exclusive Augusta National Golf Club is a multimillionaire with rich Southern roots and a woman known for breaking gender barriers.

Darla Moore made a name for herself in the male-dominated world of finance as executive vice president of Rainwater Inc., which is one of the largest private investment firms in the United States. She was also the first woman profiled by Fortune magazine for a cover story in 1997.

Moore and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice became the golf club's first female members Monday.

Moore is the top donor to the University of South Carolina and the business school is named after her. She has pledged $75 million to her alma mater.
